VANCOUVER, Wash. -- For the first time since 2006, Lindsey Wilson College has a women's cross country All-American as Sharon Ronoh finished tied for eighth at the NAIA Women's Cross Country National Championship on Saturday at the Fort Vancouver National Historic Site.

Ronoh finished in 17 minutes and 57 seconds, along with Jordan Arnold from Friends (Kan.) University who crossed the finish at the same time. Ronoh was the only Blue Raider in the field.

The junior from Timboroa, Kenya had taken the individual title in her past six races, including a win at the Mid-South Conference Championship.

Senior Obsie Birru won the individual NAIA Championship, finishing first in 17:15, followed by Azusa Pacific (Calif.) University senior Lauren Jimison in second (17:24) and junior Karlee Coffey from Eastern Oregon University wrapped up the top three in 17:42.

The top 10 finishers at the NAIA Championship earn All-American honors.

In 2006, Lindsey Wilson's Stellah Sang was an All-American and before her, only Everline Asiba had earned the honor in 1996.

Ronoh's eighth-place finish is the best at the NAIA Championship in program history, topping Sang's 19th-place showing in 2006 in Louisville, Ky.

Ronoh also qualified for last season's championship in Vancouver where she finished 146th.

California State San Marcos won the team championship on Saturday, recording 82 points with a pair of top-10 individual finishes.

Lindsey Wilson did not compete as a team at the National Championship.
