GEORGETOWN, Ky. -- It was another runner-up finish for the Lindsey Wilson College men's golf team today at the Georgetown College Spring Invitational at Cherry Blossom Golf Club.
The Blue Raiders fired a 300 today to record a two-day total of 599 (299-300) to finish second behind No. 4-ranked University of the Cumberlands, who shot a 580 (294-286). Host Georgetown College finished third with a 621 (314-307) and West Virginia University Tech ended in fourth with a 725 (358-367).
Lindsey Wilson junior Nicolas Navarro recorded his second round under par this season with a one-under par 71 to climb seven spots into a tie for fourth. Navarro shot a two-day total of 149 (78-71) to earn all-tournament honors.
Sophomore Antonio Arriola (74-77) and junior Chris Lewis (75-76) tied for seventh in the 34-man field while sophomore Daron Morris ended in ninth with a score of 152 (72-80)
Senior Joe Hood finished in a tied for 11th with a 154 (78-76) to round out the Blue Raider quintet. Freshman Rob Clark -- playing as an individual -- finished 14th after a 155 (78-77).
Cumberlands' Fredrik Lindbom's won the tournament after his second straight sub-par round. He concluded the tournament with a four-under par 140 (71-69).
The Blue Raiders return to action on April 25-26 as they travel to the Mid-South Conference Championships at Maywood Country Club in Bardstown, Ky.
