BEREA, Ky. -- Sharon Ronoh finished 45 seconds ahead of the next competitor to take first place individually and lead the Lindsey Wilson College women's cross-country team to a third-place finish at the Berea Invitational hosted be Berea (Ky.) College on Saturday.
Ronoh clocked in at 18 minutes and 21 seconds to win her first race of the season with Georgetown (Ky.) College's Elisha Overpeck finishing second in 19:06. The pair were the only two harries to finish under the 20-minute mark.
Other top Lindsey Wilson finishers were Alicia Mattingly in 10th place in 21:02 and Maria Sanchez crossing the line in 21:40 to take 13th place.
Madison Mills turned in a 23rd-place finish in 22:20 and Jennifer Miller (27th) and Nicole Furnish (30th) also placed in the top 30 with time of 22:35 and 22:40, respectively.
Just outside the top 30 were Reini Brickson in 32nd place with a time of 22:49 and Katarina Gimborys in 35th place (22:58). Haley Helton was the final Blue Raider in the top 50, crossing in 23:24 to take 42nd place.
Lindsey Wilson took third place in the team-title standings with 74 points, based off the finishing places of its top-five harriers. Georgetown won the team title with 30 team points and Southern Virginia University finished second with 65 points.
Lindsey Wilson returns to action at 8:30 a.m. CT on Oct. 1 in the Greater Louisville Classic in Louisville, Ky.
