No. 2 Men's Soccer Puts Away No. 20 Bethel 3-1

MCKENZIE, Tenn. – Three first-half goals helped the second-ranked Lindsey Wilson College men's soccer team put away No. 20 Bethel (Tenn.) 3-1 on Saturday in Mckenzie, Tenn.

It's been a perfect October for the Blue Raiders, winning five straight games, including two against NAIA top-20 teams.

Lebogang Moloto scored first in the seventh minute, while Yazeed Davids issued the final two goals in quick succession in the 34th and 38th. None of the Lindsey Wilson goals were assisted.

Mohammed Dumbuya kicked in a late goal in the 79th minute for Bethel, its only score of the game despite attempting a game-high 16 shots. The Blue Raiders fired 10 shots, but led the game in shots on goal 6-5.

Davids led Lindsey Wilson in shots with three, while Bethel's Christopher Baker was busy on offense with six shots, including two on goal.

Yuta Nomura collected four saves in goal for the Blue Raiders, while Bethel keeper Luke Edgecombe picked up three saves along with the three goals allowed.

Bethel finished the game with the advantage in corner kicks 8-5 and committed one more foul at 5-4.

Lindsey Wilson has one game left in the regular season, hosting 19th-ranked Martin Methodist (Tenn.) at 7 p.m. CT on Tuesday.
