Clark Leads No. 11 Men's Basketball Past Belhaven 90-57

COLUMBIA, Ky. – Down by seven points with 11 minutes left in the second half, Belhaven called a timeout.

About five minutes later, after three Lindsey Wilson College 3-pointers, the Blue Raiders had completed a 17-3 run to lead by 21 points en route to a 90-57 win against the Blazers in the LWC Basketball Classic on Friday at Biggers Sports Center.

Lindsey Wilson shot a season-high 14-for-29 from deep on the night as it was led by Daronte' Clark with 16 points. Clark hit 4-of-5 threes, dished out four assists, grabbed three rebounds and had a pair of steals.

Joining him in double figures for the Blue Raiders were DeAntra Scott with 14 points and Darren Ballou with 12. While both teams finished with 29 rebounds, it was Scott leading the way on the glass for Lindsey Wilson with six.

Belhaven was led by Jordan Butts, alone in double figures with 15 points. Butts also had a complete night, adding four rebounds, four steals and two assists.

It was a slow start for both teams as the Blue Raiders led by just two points at 15-13 seven minutes into the game. The first real separation came at the end of a 13-0 run at the 7:57 mark when Scott's jumper in the paint gave Lindsey Wilson a 17-point lead.

The Blazers fought back to a single-digit deficit early in the second half. After the Blue Raider led 38-24 at halftime, Belhaven went on a 10-3 run to start the half and trail just 41-34.

Every time it looked like the Blazers were getting comfortable in the game, a Blue Raider was there from long distance. In this instance it was Ballou, knocking down one of his two threes to push the lead back to 10 points.

When Belhaven got back within seven about three minutes later, it was Chris Bridges with the 3-point answer. From there Lindsey Wilson never let up, extending its lead to as many as 33 points with Shaquille Wilson's three to end the game.

Lindsey Wilson is back in action for the final day of the classic at 4 p.m. CT on Saturday against Freed-Hardeman (Tenn.). Campbellsville (Ky.) takes on Belhaven in the opener at 2 p.m.
