CLEVELAND, Tenn. -- The Lindsey Wilson College men's golf team tied for the low round of the day on Tuesday and dropped from a day-one third place to finish sixth in the Lee University Spring Invite at the Cleveland Country Club in Cleveland, Tenn.
Led by Nicolas Navarro (77-77) and Ryne Burnett (75-59) tying for 23rd place with a 154, the Blue Raiders tallied a team total 618 (308-310).
Tennessee Wesleyan won the team title with a 585 (294-291), while Lee (Tenn.) was a close second with a 593 (306-287). No one else finished under 600 as Cumberlands (Ky.) claimed third place with a 605 (315-290).
Lee's JB Eksteen tallied a consistent individual title, carding a round of 67 both days for a winning ten-under par 134. No one challenged his lead as Tennessee Wesleyan's Maichael Alread was a distant second with a 143 (71-72).
Backing up Lindsey Wilson's top-scoring duo was Chris Lewis (78-77) and Nathan Hincks (78-77) tied for 30th and Nathan Clark in 55th place with a 163 (84-79).
Lindsey Wilson is back in action on March 29-30 in the Southeastern Kentucky Intercollegiate at Crooked Creek Golf Club in London, Ky.
