No. 15 Football falls 20-10 at No. 14 Georgetown

GEORGETOWN, Ky. -- No 14-ranked Georgetown (Ky.) scored 20 unanswered points to beat No. 15 Lindsey Wilson football 20-10 on Saturday at Toyota Stadium.

Lindsey Wilson (8-3) must now wait and see if they will receive an at-large bid into the 16-team playoffs when the qualifiers are announced on Sunday.

Georgetown dominated the time of the possession in the game to keep the potent Lindsey Wilson offense off the field. In the second half alone, the Tigers (7-3) controlled the ball for more than 22 minutes. Georgetown ended the game with a 35:02 to 24:58 time of possession advantage.

Lindsey Wilson opened strong scoring the game's first 10 points.

Michael Brooks' fourth interception of the season resulted in a Mark Corbett 27-yard field goal and a 3-0 lead late in the first quarter.

The Blue Raiders extended their lead to 10-0 on a 12-play, 93-yard scoring drive with 9:03 in the half. Rome Cotton provided the touchdown with an eight-yard run for his 10th rushing score of the season. Cotton ended with 73 yards on 16 carries and the one touchdown.

The Tigers snatched the momentum from the Blue Raiders late in the first half.

Georgetown quarterback Neil Pawsat connected on a 14-yard touchdown pass to Bobby Chan-Chan in the front of the end zone with eight seconds remaining in the half to cut the Lindsey Wilson lead to 10-7.

Georgetown carried the momentum into the second half with an 18-play, 74-yard drive that took nearly nine minutes off the clock. Zach Sowder -- who rushed for 82 yards on the day -- capped the drive with a one-yard plunge into the end zone for a 13-10 lead.

Pawsat finished the game's scoring on the first play of the fourth quarter with a 17-yard touchdown pass to Branden Burdette to put the Tigers up 20-10.

Georgetown out-gained the Blue Raiders 369-208 in total yards in the game while running 20 more offensive plays.

Pawsat finished 22-of-37 for 242 yards through the air with two touchdowns and two interceptions.

Lindsey Wilson's Chris Dobbins finished with seven catches for a game-high 107 yards.

Brooks led the Blue Raider defense with 12 tackles and the one interception while Jerry Long added 11 tackles. Georgetown's Brock Messina finished with five tackles, including three quarterback sacks.
