Ballou, Bridges Shoot No. 3 Men's Basketball Over Cumberland 72-55

LEBANON, Tenn. – Darren Ballou and Chris Bridges knocked down three 3-pointers each and Kalen Kimberland scored a team-high 18 points to lead third-ranked Lindsey Wilson over Cumberland (Tenn.) 72-55 on Saturday at Dallas Floyd Gymnasium.

The Blue Raiders (23-2, 13-2 MSC) continued to shoot the ball at an exceptional clip, firing at 55.8 percent from the field and 52.9 percent from deep with Bridges leading the way going 3-for-3 from beyond the arc. Lindsey Wilson led 34-22 at halftime and went on to outscore the Bulldogs by five in the second half to secure the win.

Cumberland got a game-high 20 points from Brian Blackmon, but failed to get any other players in double figures scoring. Aside from Kimberland, Ballou and Bridges also reached double figures with 11 and 15 points, respectively.

The Bulldogs failed to match Lindsey Wilson's shooting prowess, finishing with a 41.5 percent mark from the field and dismal 8.3 percent (1-12) showing from deep. Combine those woes with being outrebounded 35-24 and being outscored from the bench 27-10 and it's no secret how Lindsey Wilson earned the win.

Cumberland did lead once in the game, taking a one-point advantage at the 17:33 mark of the first half. But four first-half threes for Lindsey Wilson, as the Bulldogs failed to hit even one, helped the Blue Raiders take a double-digit that it kept for much of the rest of the night.

Blackmon laid a shot in with 11 minutes to play to bring Cumberland within nine, but a 9-3 Blue Raider run over the next three minutes ended the hopes of a comeback for good.

DeAntra Scott led Lindsey Wilson on the boards with eight rebounds, while Kimberland dished out a game-best five assists in conjunction with being the team's leading scorer.

The Blue Raiders return to the court at 7 p.m. CT on Thursday at No. 7 Pikeville (Ky.).
