Men's Golf regains President Cup with 10-5 win over Campbellsville

DANVILLE, Ky. -- Lindsey Wilson men's golf regained the President's Cup from Campbellsville (Ky.) today with a 10-5 win in the annual matches at Old Bridge Golf Club.

The Blue Raiders also won the stroke play event -- that was played concurrently with the match play matches -- by nine shots (580-589). Lindsey Wilson shot 286 this morning and followed with a team-round of 294 in the afternoon to secure the win.

In the match play, the Blue Raiders dominated the morning's two-man better ball matches posting a 4-1/2 to 1/2 lead after the opening 18 holes.

Lindsey Wilson collected 5-1/2 of the 10 available points in the afternoon singles matches to reclaim the Cup. The Blue Raiders have won the match play event four of the five times it has been contested.

In the stroke play event, Frank Medale led the Blue Raiders to the nine stroke win as he and teammate Nathan Hincks -- who played as an individual -- shared medialist honors.

Medale fired back-to-back rounds of 69 while Hincks shot 66 and 72 today for the 138 totals. The pair -- who each shot career-low rounds today -- finished four strokes in front of third-place Matthew Razor from Campbellsville.

Hincks finished with tournament-best 10 birdies and an eagle while Medale carded eight birdies and an eagle.

Lindsey Wilson's Tyler Putty -- also playing as an individual -- tied for fourth at 144 (69-75).

Lindsey Wilson returns to action on Sept. 9-10 at the Bill Sergert Invitational hosted by Cumberlands (Ky.) at Crooked Creek Golf Club in London, Ky.
