WALESKA, Ga. -- Lindsey Wilson football built a 24-point second half lead and held on for a 50-45 win at Reinhardt (Ga.) University on Saturday at Ken White Field.

The Blue Raiders -- who improve to 2-0 for the first time in the program's history -- spoil Reinhardt's first home game in the program's history with the win.

The Blue Raiders took advantage of two third-quarter turnovers, scoring touchdowns on each, to turn a 31-17 halftime lead into a 44-17 advantage with just under 10 minutes left in the quarter.

Reinhardt (0-2) refused to fold scoring three four-quarter touchdowns to trim the deficit to five (50-45) with 3:43 left in the game.

But Lindsey Wilson converted a pair of third downs during the final drive of the game to run out the clock and secure the win.

It was a day for the offenses as the two teams combined for nearly 100 points and 1,152 yards of total offense -- Lindsey Wilson ended with 569 compared to 583 from Reinhardt.

Lindsey Wilson's Mark Corbett opened the scoring with a 20-yard field goal to give the Blue Raiders the 3-0 lead following the game's opening drive.

Reinhardt countered with a 13-play, 71-yard drive to take its only lead of the day at 7-3. Niagel Curtis capped the drive with a five-yard run for the first touchdown in Ken White Field history.

As quickly as the Eagles seized momentum, Lindsey Wilson took it back scoring on back-to-back drives.

Branden Cresap threw the first of four touchdown tosses on the day to give the Blue Raiders a 10-7 lead. Cresap hit Cortez Barber in stride down the middle of the field from the 25-yard line to put Lindsey Wilson back in front for good.

Following an onside kick recovery by the Blue Raiders, Cresap hooked up with Chris Dobbins for a 32-yard score to extend the lead to 17-7 at the end of the first quarter. Cresap finished the game 26-of-38 for 419 yards -- second on the program's single-game passing list.

Reinhardt kicker Matthew Moon briefly halted the Lindsey Wilson momentum with a 33-yard field goal to close the gap to 17-10.

Lindsey Wilson used a pair of nine-play drives on its next two possessions en route to finding the endzone and taking a 31-10 lead.

Lindsey Wilson's Dakota Brown capped an 80-yard drive with a five-yard run to pay dirt for the first of two touchdowns on the day. Following a Reinhardt punt, Brown was at it again. He scored from six yards out to conclude a 74-yard march. Brown ended with 31 rushing yards and 42 yards receiving.

The Eagles responded with a touchdown just before halftime to cut the Lindsey Wilson lead to 31-17. L.J. Stegall -- who tallied 137 rushing and 45 receiving yards -- scored on a 38-yard toss from quarterback Johnathon Chamblee to trail by two scores at the break.

Lindsey Wilson wasted little time out of the locker room building its lead.

Following the first turnover of the game, Cresap connected with Matt Powers on an eight-yard touchdown to cap a 12-play, 77-yard drive for the 37-17 lead. The Blue Raiders scored on the next play as Barber scooped and scored a Stegall fumble on the kickoff return for the 44-17 lead.

Stegall redeemed himself on the next drive with a 64-yard touchdown scamper to cut the deficit to 44-24.

Cresap tossed his final touchdown of the day on a 49-yard screen pass to Rome Cotton to push the Blue Raiders in front 50-24. Cotton finished with 165 total yards of offense and a touchdown.

Down 26, Reinhardt would score 21 unanswered points in the fourth quarter but would get no closer than five points in a losing effort. Stegall -- who ended with three touchdowns -- and Sam Jones each found the endzone in the fourth-quarter comeback attempt.

Led by Stegall, Reinhardt rushed for 345 yards. The Blue Raiders finished with 150 yards on the ground. Lindsey Wilson won the battle through the air with a 419-238 advantage.

Lindsey Wilson returns to action at 6 p.m. CT on Saturday, Sept. 14, as the Blue Raiders travel to Kentucky Wesleyan College in Owensboro, Ky.
