BLUEFIELD, Va. -- Bluefield (Va.) led wire-to-wire en route to a 73-63 win over the visiting Lindsey Wilson men's basketball team on Saturday at the Dome Gymnasium.

Bluefield's Kearsten Marion scored a game-high 18 points and Josh Nesbit added 17 to lead the Rams (8-4, 2-3 in the Mid-South Conference) to their first win against Lindsey Wilson in five all-time meetings.

The Rams scored 12 of the game's first 13 points only to have Lindsey Wilson (10-8, 1-5) battle back within 27-26 late in the first half. Bluefield closed the half with five straight points to lead 32-26 at the half.

The Blue Raiders fought throughout the second half, getting as close as 46-42 near the midway point of the second half. But the Rams eventually pushed the lead back to double digits on their way to the 73-63 win.

Bluefield out-shot the Blue Raiders 48.1 percent (25-of-52) to 45.3 percent (24-of-53) from the field. The Rams also out-rebounded Lindsey Wilson 36-27.

Keshaun Mayfield led the Blue Raiders in scoring with 12 while Tony Horne and Daronte' Clark added 11 each.

Lindsey Wilson returns to action at 6 p.m. CT on Thursday, Jan. 16, as the Blue Raiders travel to Cumberland (Tenn.) in Lebanon, Tenn.
