Box Score COLUMBIA, Ky. – Lindsey Wilson led wire-to-wire as four Blue Raiders scored double-digit points in a 73-58 victory over Cumberlands (Ky.) Thursday night.
Lindsey Wilson improves to 12-8 on the season and 3-5 in Mid-South Conference play. Cumberlands falls to 11-7 on the year and 3-5 in the Mid-South with the loss.
Anthony Crenshaw scored a team-high 17 points, followed closely by Daronte' Clark with 14. Roderick Clark added a career-high 12 points and Keshaun Mayfield contributed 10 points and seven assists. Tyrie Orosco came off the bench to lead the team with eight rebounds.
The Blue Raiders jumped ahead early with a 15-3 run to open the game. Cumberlands would battle back using an 18-9 run to cut the Lindsey Wilson lead to three at 24-21. A field goal by Crenshaw would ignite a 9-3 Blue Raider run to close out the half at 33-24 in favor of Lindsey Wilson.
Crenshaw scored 11 of his 17 points in the first half while Lindsey Wilson shot 41.4 percent as a team. Cumberlands shot just 29.6 percent from the field and grabbed 12 rebounds compared to 27 total rebounds for the Blue Raiders.
The second half opened up with another hot start by Lindsey Wilson, going on a 19-9 run to make it 52-33 with 12:19 to play. The 19-point lead was the largest of the night for the Blue Raiders.
Cumberlands would not give up as they used a 25-13 run to cut the Lindsey Wilson lead down to seven at 65-58 with 2:02 remaining. The Blue Raider defense would step up and hold the Patriots without a basket for the remainder of the game, while adding an 8-0 run to cap off the night with a 73-58 win.
Lindsey Wilson finished the night shooting 48.1 percent from the field, including making 18-of-22 free throws. Cumberlands shot just 30.9 percent for the game, including 5-of-21 from beyond the arc. The Blue Raider bench outscored the Patriots' bench 30-12 on the night.
Tony Bradley led the Patriots with 25 points and eight rebounds. Shaquille Lowery was the only other Cumberlands player with double-digit points with 16.
Lindsey Wilson returns to action on Saturday, Jan. 25 as they host No. 11 Georgetown (Ky.) at 4 p.m. CT in Biggers Sports Center.
