Women's Cross Country competes at NAIA Preview Meet and Fast Cats Collegiate Classic on Saturday

COLUMBIA, Ky. – The Lindsey Wilson women's cross country team competed at both the NAIA Preview Meet in Lawrence, Kansas, and the Fast Cats Collegiate Classic in Owensboro, Kentucky, on Saturday.

The Blue Raiders finished 26th of 32 teams at the NAIA Preview and took fourth of five teams at the Fast Cats Classic.

The top runner for Lindsey Wilson at the 5k NAIA Preview race was Maria Cozzens, who recorded a time of 20:40.20 to place 127th in the 312-person field.

Elena Oslund ran a 21:26.90 to claim 179th and Ally Davis finished shortly after in 186th place with a time of 21:32.20.

Kaylin Anderson clocked in at 21:43.50 for a 200th-place finish at the Rim Rock Farm course.

Abbie Chandler took 242nd place with a time of 22:30.70, followed by Sara Canada in 250th place at the 22:43.10 mark. Breana Conway finished at 22:48.40 in a tie for 253rd and Mia Cornette wrapped up the Lindsey Wilson seven-person squad with a time of 22:54.20 in 257th place.

In a pool of 312 runners, Oklahoma Baptist's Hannah Fields was the top overall competitor with a final time of 17:46.00.

Dordt (Iowa) claimed the top spot with 112 points in the 32-team event.

At the Fast Cats Collegiate Classic held at Yellow Creek Park, the Blue Raiders finished in fourth place among five teams at the 5k event.

Christiana Thompson led Lindsey Wilson with a time of 21:43.34 to finish in 13th out of 39 runners, and Heather Wilson clocked in at 22:38.90 for 20th place. Kaitlyn Davis (22:42.86) and Baylee Shepherd (23:29.17) came in 21st and 22nd, respectively.

Angela Herbig finished in 25th place with a time of 24:15.67, Kassidy Edwards took 32nd at 25:28.99 and Coyana White finished 34th at the 26:34.01 mark. Katie Wicke, running as an unattached competitor, finished in 37th with a time of 29:33.74.

Kentucky Wesleyan's Rachel Keeley claimed the top individual time with a finish of 19:40.92 in the 39-person field. Out of five teams competing, Campbellsville (Ky.) led the pack with 32 points.

Lindsey Wilson competes next on Oct. 25 at the Midway Invitational scheduled for 9 a.m. CT in Midway, Kentucky.
