COLUMBIA, Ky. – The Lindsey Wilson men's cross country team finished in 27th place out of 31 teams at the NAIA Preview Meet in Lawrence, Kansas, on Saturday. A handful of Blue Raiders also competed in the Fast Cats Classic in Owensboro, Kentucky, hosted by Brescia (Ky.).
At the 8k NAIA Preview race at Rim Rock Farm, John-Paul Williamson led the way for Lindsey Wilson's seven-man squad, finishing in 27:12.30 to claim 65th place in the 300-runner field.
Greg Smithson was the next Blue Raider to finish, crossing the line at 28:54.30 in 169th place. Garry Korir finished shortly after Smithson in 189th place with a time of 29:19.40.
Trevor Shearer finished the event with a time of 29:29.30 in 197th place, followed by Cody Hymer (29:35.10; 204th), Ben Hoffman (29:47.40; 217th) and Marcus Terrell (30:37.30; 252th).
Wayland Baptist's (Texas) Benard Keter was the top harrier in the 300-man field, completing the race with a time of 24:40.30.
Out of the 31 teams competing, Olivet Nazarene (Ill.) finished atop the team standings with 84 total points.
At the Fast Cats Collegiate Classic held at Yellow Creek Park, the Blue Raiders' men's team had four individual runners competing in the 8k race. Clay Priddy led the way with a time of 29:32.95 to finish in 33rd out of 56 competitors.
Brent Will clocked in at 31:25.23 in 46th place, and not far behind him was Hayden Sorrels with a time of 31:40.43 in 48th. Andrew Morgan capped the four-man group of Lindsey Wilson with a finish of 32:23.32 in 52nd place.
Southern Indiana's Josh Guy finished in first place as an unattached runner in the event. Guy completed the race in 26:28.14.
Campbellsville (Ky.) won the team event with 45 total team points.
Lindsey Wilson competes next on Oct. 25 at the Midway Invitational scheduled for 9 a.m. CT in Midway, Kentucky.
