Box Score COLUMBIA, Ky. – The No. 3-ranked Lindsey Wilson men's soccer team pulled out a 2-0 victory over No. 22 Bethel (Tenn.) on Monday in the final game of the McDonald's Classic at Walter S. Reuling Stadium
Sophomore Aleksi Pahkasalo scored the first goal for the Blue Raiders off a rebound from Wildcats' goalkeeper Mark Wier in the 79th minute. Three minutes later freshman Nedin Zukanovic headed in the second goal off a cross from Elijah Ukpong.
Lindsey Wilson (2-0) had 15 total shots and Bethel (1-1) had four. Pahkasalo and junior Keletso Mosime each had four shots, two of which were on goal. Errol Reid, Tevin Skyers, Kegbba Demba and Austin Toman each had a shot for the Wildcats.
The Blue Raiders had some missed opportunities in the first half as three shots sailed high over the crossbar. Weir had four total saves for the Wildcats, while Blue Raiders goalkeeper Dalyan Hawes had one.
Lindsey Wilson returns to action Saturday, Sept. 6 at home against Bryan (Tenn.). Kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. CT.
