ST. SIMONS ISLAND, Ga. – The Lindsey Wilson men's golf team shot a two-round score of 613 (308-305) finishing ninth at the Coastal Georgia Fall Invitational at Sea Island Golf Course on Tuesday.
Ryan Nowe placed 16th leading the way for the Blue Raiders at the 14-team tournament, scoring a 1-under par on the final day for a two total of 148 (77-71). Jordan Hagan carded a 5-over par on the final day for a two day total of 154 (77-77) to place 34th.
After scoring a 5-over par on the first day, Federico Navarro finished 43rd after carding an 8-over par today for a two-day total of 157 (77-80).
Alex Durham and Chris Butler rounded out the squad with Durham finishing 50th and Butler placing 54th. Durham carded a 9-over par on the final day for a two-round score of 160 (77-83), while Butler turned in a score of 162 (85-77).
Host and defending NAIA national champion Coastal Georgia was crowned the winner of the invitational with a two-round total of 573 (287-286). Warner Southern (Fla.) and Thomas (Ga.) finished tied for second with a total of 584.
Dalton State's (Ga.) Sean Elliot was the individual medalist after finishing day two with a 6-under par 66 for a two-round total of 139 (73-66). Alistaire Tidcombe of Coastal Georgia took second with a 140 (70-70) while USC-Beaufort's Alan Cooke and Thomas' Stone Cowie tied for third with a score of 141.
The men's golf team will return to the links on Sept. 29 when they host the Blue Raider Fall Classic at The Pines at Lindsey Wilson.
