No. 3 Men's Soccer knocks off Campbellsville, 4-1

COLUMBIA, Ky. – The No. 3-ranked Lindsey Wilson men's soccer defeated visiting Campbellsville (Ky.) by a 4-1 margin on Tuesday night at Walter S. Reuling Stadium.

Playing in their Mid-South Conference opener, the Blue Raiders (5-0-0, 1-0-0 MSC) scored the match's first three goals, including a laser off the foot of Nedin Zukanovic in the 27th minute to begin their offensive attack. Yazeed Davids earned an assist on the play.

Later on, Lindsey Wilson moved ahead by two goals on Billal Qsiyer's header in the 61st minute off a well-placed corner kick by Aleksi Pahkasalo. Less than five minutes down the line, Keane McIvor headed the ball into the back of the net off a pass from Yusuf Ackers to stretch the Blue Raiders' advantage to three goals.

The Tigers (6-2-0, 1-1-0 MSC) tallied their lone score via a Marcelo Petit penalty kick in the 70th minute. To wrap up the night's offensive display, Tom Moody scored on a long free kick in the 73rd minute.

Lindsey Wilson held a 29-to-11 edge in shots, including a 14-to-7 advantage in shots-on-goal.

Dalyan Hawes picked up the victory between the posts for the Blue Raiders, stopping six shots. Campbellsville's Josh Hollis suffered the loss after making 10 saves.

Lindsey Wilson plays next on Sunday when it hosts Northwestern Ohio. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. CT.
