MCDERMOTT, Ohio – The Lindsey Wilson men's golf team concluded the final day of the Mid-South Conference Fall Tournament with a 302 team score to take third place on Friday at the Elks Country Club.
After shooting an 8-over par 296 on the first day, the Blue Raiders followed with a 302 on the second day to bring their total to 598, finishing eight strokes behind second-place Cumberlands (Ky.) at 590 and 10 strokes behind tournament winner Cumberland (Tenn.) at 588.
Zach Madewell posted the best Blue Raider round of the day with a 1-over 73 to finish tied for sixth place with a 147 (74-73). Teammate Alex Durham also tied for sixth place with a 147 (72-75) of his own, including a 3-over par 75 on the final day.
Federico Navarro finished in 14th place with a 152 (74-78). Jonathon Grabara was one of two Blue Raiders, along with Madewell, to shoot better on day two as he followed his first round 79 with a 4-over 76 to bring his total to 155 for the tournament in a tie for 19th place.
Jordan Hagan completed the five-man squad with a 156 (76-80).
Chris Butler, who competed as an individual at the event, finished tied for 12th place with a 151 (75-76).
Ryan Botts of Cumberland took home top medalist honors after finishing one stroke ahead of Cumberlands Martin Jacobsson at 1-under for the tournament.
Lindsey Wilson is back in action on Oct. 19 for the NAIA Preview Tournament in Silvis, Ill.
