ST. LOUIS, Mo. – The Lindsey Wilson women's cross country team finished in first place on Saturday at the St. Louis Fall Classic.
Freshman Nikki Coffey led for nearly the entire race as she took home the individual victory with a time of 18:29, setting a new personal best in the process. She finished 12 seconds faster than the next runner.
The Blue Raiders accumulated just 73 total teams points to top the team standings. Williams Baptist (Ark.) finished with 107 points in second place followed by Evangel (Mo.) in third with 110 points.
It marks the third win of the season for the women's team as they also won the Belmont Open on Sept. 5 and the MSC Preview Meet on Sept. 26. It is Coffey's second individual win as she also won the MSC Preview Meet.
Not far behind Coffey finished Maria Cozzens in fifth place with a time of 19:00, also a personal best. The next Blue Raider across the line was Heather Wilson, who notched a personal best time of her own at 20:45 in 20th place.
Four additional Blue Raiders collected season-best times on the day in Kaylin Anderson, Mia Cornette, Breana Conway and Ashley Anderson.
Cornette took 23rd at 21:03, followed immediately by Kaylin Anderson in 24th at 21:10 as she was the final Blue Raider to contribute to the team score.
Conway was the final runner to finish in the top 30 for Lindsey Wilson at 30th place with a time of 21:32 in the 13-team field of 101 competitors.
Lindsey Wilson was the top Mid-South Conference team at the event, beating out fifth-place Campbellsville (Ky.) and sixth-place Cumberland (Tenn.).
The Blue Raiders return to action on Nov. 7 for the MSC Championships in Bowling Green, Ky.
