Men's Golf finishes sixth at Bill Sergent Invitational

LONDON, Ky. – Lindsey Wilson men's golf climbed one spot today at the Bill Sergent Invitational hosted by Cumberlands (Ky.) to finish sixth in the nine-team field at Crooked Creek Golf Club.

Alex Durham -- who is competing in the tournament as an individual -- ended in a tie for sixth and earned all-tournament honors after carding a two-day total 1-under par 143 (70-73).

As a team, the No.19-ranked Blue Raiders posted a 604 (305-299) after shooting six strokes better today than yesterday's opening round. Cumberlands won the tournament with a 570 (283-287) while Cumberland (Tenn.) finished second at 581 (296-285).

Following Thursday's 2-under par 70, Durham carded three birdies and four bogeys today for a 1-over 73 over the 6,930-yard, par-72 Crooked Creek layout.

Starting at No. 10, Durham made bogeys on his first two holes. He rebounded to make the turn at even par with birdies at 16 and 18. He fell back to 2-over on the day and even for the tournament with bogeys at the fourth and sixth holes. Again, Durham battled back to birdie No. 8 -- his next to last hole -- to climb back under par for the tournament.

Jonathon Grabara led the Blue Raider team with a two-day total 148 (73-75) -- good enough for 15th in the 59-man tournament. He ended the tournament with six birdies, including three over a four-hole stretch today.

Zach Madewell finished tied for 23rd with a 151 (78-73). His 73 today tied Durham for the round of the day from a Lindsey Wilson golfer. Madewell had three birdies and four bogeys during the round.

Federico Navarro tied for 32nd overall with a 153 (75-78) while Kellen Wilson (79-77) and Jordan Hagan (82-74) tied for 37th with 156s. Chris Butler, also competing as an individual, ended tied for 28th following his 152 (76-76).

Cumberlands' Callum McGuigan earned medalist honors with a 6-under par 138 (67-71).
