OGLESBY, Ill. – The Lindsey Wilson men's golf team concluded the final round of the Deer Park Classic with a 295 to put them in a tie for 10th place in the final standings of the 54-hole tournament on Tuesday afternoon.
The Blue Raiders complete the tournament with a three-round 879 (298-286-295), which put them in a tie for 10th place with Indiana Wesleyan.
Lindsey Wilson was unable to match their second round performance of 286, dropping them two spots in the final standings by tournament end.
Jonathon Grabara finished as the top Blue Raider at the tournament carding a 2-over (71-67-77) in a tie for 21st place. After entering the day tied for third, Grabara struggled to find a rhythm during the final round finishing with a 6-over par 77 on the final day at the par-71, 6,553-yard course.
Jordan Hagan finished tied for 35th place with a 6-over (74-70-75) while Zach Madewell finished two strokes behind him at 8-over (73-76-72). Madewell did make his last round his best round, carding a 1-over par 72.
Federico Navarro completed the tournament at 15-over (80-73-75) in a tie for 63rd place as Alex Durham finished in 77th place in the 93-man field with a 21-over (85-76-73). Durham also saved his best for last carding a 2-over 73 in the final round.
Mount Mercy's (Iowa) George Long led wire-to-wire to finish atop the leaderboard at 11-under, with a 3-under 69 on the final day, holding off second place Kaleb Gorbahn of Holy Cross (Ind.) by one stroke.
Host Cardinal Stritch (Wis.) took home the team title with a team score of 14-under, eight strokes better than second place Lindenwood-Belleville (Ill.).
The Blue Raiders return to the links on Oct. 1 when they head to McDermott, Ohio to the Fall Mid-South Conference Tournament, hosted by Shawnee State (Ohio).
