BRUNSWICK, Ga. -- No. 20-ranked Lindsey Wilson men's basketball opened the 2016-17 season with a 73-72 win over host Coastal Georgia tonight at Howard Coffin Gym.

DJ Lambert led a trio of Blue Raiders in double figures with 17 points. He added three rebounds, two assists and five steals in the win.

Lindsey Wilson never trailed in the game, but needed to hang on down the stretch to secure the win.

Bryan Wallace connected on a pair of free throws with 4:16 left in the game to give the Blue Raiders a 73-60 lead. The freebies were the final points of the game for Lindsey Wilson -- who closed the game missing its last five shots and committing three turnovers.

Prior to the cold-spell, the Blue Raiders looked to be in complete control the game -- leading by 10 points at the half and extending their lead to 13 points on two different occasions in the final half.

Dmitry Utolin added 14 points while Wallace chipped in 11 points to join Lambert in double figures.

Coastal Georgia's Haylen Washington led all scorers with 20 points.

Lindsey Wilson returns to action at 2 p.m. CT on Saturday, Oct. 29, as the Blue Raiders travel to Edward Waters (Fla.) in Jacksonville, Florida.
