OWENSBORO, Ky. – Nikki Coffey and Heather Wilson placed in the top 15 to lead Lindsey Wilson women's cross country to a third-place finish at the Fast Cats Cross Country Invitational at Yellow Creek Park in Owensboro, Kentucky.
Coffey was the Blue Raiders' top finisher, placing seventh out of 110 participants with a time of 19:14.98. Wilson ran a 19:58.08, which was good for 14th. The top 15 individual placers received medals.
Kaylin Anderson posted a 34th-place result at 20:53.86. Allyson Davis was Lindsey Wilson's next finisher at 40th. Breana Conway, Mia Cornette and Taylor Jones rounded out the Blue Raiders.
Serena Gale-Butto of Centre (Ky.) won the women's race with a time of 17:43.54.
Lindsey Wilson finished the 5k race with a team score of 111. Bellermine (Ky.) won the classic with 29 points. Centre finished behind Bellermine with 40 points.
Mid-South Conference members Campbellsville (Ky.) and Georgetown (Ky.) placed fourth and seventh, respectively.
In addition to the main competition, the Blue Raiders were third in the chase for the Kentucky Cup Trophy, which was awarded to the meet's top finisher from Kentucky. Bellermine also captured the Kentucky Cup.
The Lindsey Wilson women's cross country team returns to action on Oct. 22 as they travel to the St. Louis Fall Classic.
