CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. -- Lindsey Wilson College men's golf finished fourth on Tuesday at the Challenge at Dalhousie hosted by Lindenwood-Belleville (Mo.).
The finish is the Blue Raiders' fifth top-five finish this season.
Lindsey Wilson completed the two-day tournament with a team-total 626 (308-318) to finish 29 strokes off Mount Mercy's (Iowa) winning score of 597 (296-301). William Woods (Mo.) finished second in the 12-team field while Marian (Ind.) ended in third.
High winds made playing conditions difficult on Tuesday. The team scoring average jumped nearly 13 strokes in the final round compared to Monday's opening round.
The Blue Raiders' 318 on Tuesday trailed only Mount Mercy and William Woods for the top scores of the day.
Jonathon Grabara (76-80), Federico Navarro (73-83) and Ryan Nowe (79-77) all tied for 17th in the 94-man field with two-day total 156s.
Nowe posted the top round of the day for the Blue Raiders on Tuesday to climb 12 spots of the leaderboard. His 5-over par 77 was one of just 14 rounds in the 70s on Tuesday.
Zach Madewell carded one of the other sub-80 rounds with a 6-over par 78 on Tuesday to finish tied for 36th. Chris Butler finished tied for 41st with a 166 (80-86).
William Woods' Bill McKenzie captured medalist honors with a 1-over par 145 (72-73). He won the tournament by three shots over Mount Mercy's Chad Nitz (76-72).
Lindsey Wilson returns to action on April 4-5 at the Campbellsville (Ky.) Invitational -- which will also serve as the Mid-South Conference Spring Tournament -- at Campbellsville Country Club.
