CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. – Jonathon Grabara led wire-to-wire to take home medalist honors on Tuesday following the final round of the Mid-South Conference Spring Tournament on Tuesday at the Campbellsville Country Club.
After shooting a 4-under par 68 in the opening round on Monday, Grabara followed with a 3-over par 75 in the second round, carding a two-day total 143 to win the tournament by two strokes over second place Forian Loutre of Cumberlands (Ky.).
As a team, Lindsey Wilson finished as the tournament runner-up after carding a two-day total 601 (294-307) to finish four strokes behind champion Cumberlands, who shot a 597 (291-306).
Not far behind Grabara finished Chris Butler in fifth place after finishing at 4-over for the tournament with a 148 (73-75). He moved up four spots in the standings after being tied for ninth place following the first round. Both Butler and Grabara were named to the all-tournament team for their top-five finishes. The Blue Raiders were the lone institution to have two players finish in the top five.
Zach Madewell finished in 22nd place after carding a two-day 154 (76-78), finishing at 10-over for the tournament. Federico Navarro finished two strokes behind Madewell with a 156 (77-79) in a tie for 23rd place. Lindsey Wilson's top four team scorers all finished below the tournament average on both days (79.76 and 80.27 strokes).
Alex Durham completed the five-man team as he finished in a tie for 46th place with a 168 (83-85) in the field of 59.
Ryan Nowe and Jordan Hagan both competed as individuals at the tournament. Nowe carded a 6-over for the tournament with a 150 (74-76) to finish alone in eighth place. Hagan finished in a tie for 40th with a 165 (85-80).
Cumberland (Tenn.) finished in third place, 13 strokes behind the Blue Raiders. Campbellsville's (Ky.) James Higgins and St. Catharine's (Ky.) Cole Ballard also earned all-tournament team honors.
The Blue Raiders are back in action for the MSC Championship Tournament scheduled for April 18-20 at the Bowling Green Country Club.
