BLUEFIELD, W.Va. -- Eight different Blue Raiders scored touchdowns as No. 7-ranked Lindsey Wilson football cruised to a 62-23 win over host Bluefield (Va.) today at Mitchell Stadium.

The Blue Raider offense posted a season-high 597 yards of total offense while the Lindsey Wilson defense found its groove in the second half, limiting the Rams (0-4) to just three points after the intermission.

Dylan Beasley -- the reigning Mid-South Conference West Division Offensive Player of the Week -- threw for 355 yards in three quarters of action while tossing four touchdowns. Jalen Sublett scored a pair of rushing touchdowns to help a balanced running attack that put up 190 yards on the ground.

Bluefield took early leads of 7-0 and 13-7 only to have the Blue Raiders (4-0) catch and blow past the Rams. Ashten Dixon and Kenavus Jones each scored rushing touchdowns -- Dixon from 16 yards and Jones from 55 yards. The tandem helped the Rams rack up 242 of the team's 380 yards on the ground.

Sandwiched between the two Bluefield scores, Beasley and Tyrone Stallard made program history. The tandem needed one play that covered 87 yards to notch the first points of the game for Lindsey Wilson. The 87 yards is the longest play from scrimmage in the program's history, surpassing an 83-yard reception thrown by Beasley to Josh Noel in 2014. Stallard finished with two catches for a team-high 98 yards.

After Bluefield regained the lead, Beasley orchestrated an 8-play 57-yard drive, culminating with a 26-yard touchdown to Allen Cooks. Jared Dougherty's extra point put the Blue Raiders on top for good. Cooks caught three balls for 52 yards while averaging 29 yards per punt returns in his three attempts.

The Lindsey Wilson defense made the next move forcing the first turnover of the day two plays into the next Bluefield drive.

Lindsey Wilson made the Rams pay as Beasley hit a streaking Jayven Jones on a 27-yard touchdown up the right sideline for a 21-13 lead. Jones tallied 71 yards on his two catches.

Bluefield turned the tables on Lindsey Wilson in the early stages of the second quarter. Following a LWC fumble, Bluefield's Alex Martin scored from two yards out to trim the deficit to 21-20.

Lindsey Wilson used the next two quarters to outscore its host 35-0.

Sublett scored on runs of three and six yards for his third and fourth rushing touchdowns this season. Sandwiched in between the Sublett scores, Blake Ingleton found the endzone for his fourth score of the season.

Beasley pushed the Lindsey Wilson lead to 48-20 with an eight-yard strike to Mikey Davis with just over five minutes left in the third quarter. Davis' grab was his second touchdown in as many weeks.

Richard Kennedy put an exclamation point on the Blue Raiders' spurt with a 44-yard touchdown gallop for a 55-20 lead. Kennedy maneuvered through traffic, ultimately sprinting past the Bluefield defense for his longest run of the season. He ended the game with team-high 60 yards rushing.

Following a Bluefield field goal, Payton Veraldi -- in relief of Beasley -- threw his second touchdown pass of the season, finding Akio Tonge for a 42-yard touchdown to cap the scoring.

Jailen Reed ended with a career-best 52 rushing yards while Hunter Lovell caught four passes for 77 yards to aid the Blue Raider offense.

Defensively, Joe Lewis led the charge with a team-high eight tackles. Nathan Cunningham, Stevie Miller and R.J. Jennings all recorded sacks in the game, while the Blue Raiders recorded a season-high seven tackles for a loss in the game.

Lindsey Wilson returns to action at 1:30 p.m. CT on Saturday, Sept. 24 as the Blue Raiders host Cincinnati Christian (Ohio) at Blue Raider Stadium.
