Women's Cross Country finished fourth in the Mid-South Conference Championship Saturday

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. -- The Lindsey Wilson women's cross county team finished in fourth out of eight teams at the Mid-South Conference Championship Saturday morning.

As a team, the Blue Raiders earned 132 team points taken from the five Blue Raider harriers. Shawnee State (Ohio) won the team championship with a score of 15 points after claiming the top-five spots.

Mia Cornette finished in seventh place with a time of 19:37.2 in the women's 5k race. For finishing in the top seven, Cornette earned First Team All-MSC honors. The senior also qualified for the NAIA Cross Country National Championships as one of the top four finishers not on the winning team.

Freshman Dezare Jackson was the next Blue Raider to cross the finish line as she finished in 20:37.1 for 18th place.

Kaylin Anderson was the next highest LWC harrier to finish as she finished with a time of 21:19.1 for 27th place. Fifteen spots behind her was Taylor Jones with a time of 22:22.3. Jenniser Rivera crossed the line in 23:26.3

Cumberland (Tenn.) took home second place with 72 points as Cumberlands (Ky.) finished just behind with 85 points. Georgetown (Ky.) finished in fifth place, followed by Campbellsville (Ky.), Life (Ga.) and Pikeville (Ky.).

Cornette races again on November 18 in Vancouver, Washington at the NAIA National Cross Country Championship.
