Men's Golf takes second at Mid-South Conference Fall Tournament

GEORGETOWN, Ky. -- Lindsey Wilson men's golf held its second-place spot following today's final round of the Mid-South Conference Fall Tournament at Cherry Blossom Golf Club.

The Blue Raiders posted a team-total 587 (288-299) to finish behind host Georgetown (Ky.) -- who jumped over Lindsey Wilson and Cumberlands (Ky.) for the win. Georgetown bested the Blue Raiders by two strokes with a 585 (290-295) in the 11-team field.

Cumberlands placed third with a 588 (287-301) followed by Milligan's (Tenn.) 590 (291-299) and Cumberland's (Tenn.) 592 (294-298).

Jeremiah Hayes led the Blue Raiders with a third-place finish to earn all-tournament team honors. Hayes posted a 143 (73-70) over the two days following today's career-best 2-under 70 on the 6,838-yard, par-72 layout. The subpar round is Hayes' first of his career.

Callum Blinkhorn ended in a tie for fifth in the 61-man field with a 145 (71-74). The finish is Blinkhorn's second straight top-five finish after a third in the season-opener.

Steven McGowan and Rasmus Broholt Lind each recorded top-20 finishes.

McGowan finished tied for 16th with a 149 (71-78) while Lind posted a 150 (73-77) to end in a tie for 20th. Connor True tied for 51st with a 162 (80-82) while Colby White -- playing as an individual -- ended the tournament tied for 57th with a 165 (82-83).

Cumberlands' Ben Kendrick earned medalist honors with a two-day total 139 (66-73).

Lindsey Wilson returns to action on Oct. 2-3 as the Blue Raiders travel to the Skyhawk Fall Classic at Paris Landing State Park in Paris, Tennessee.
