Women's Cross Country finishes seventh at MSC Championships

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. -- Lindsey Wilson women's cross country completed its season today with a seventh-place finish at the Mid-South Conference Championship at Phil Moore Park.

The Blue Raiders tallied 133 team points with an average finish of 21 minutes and 13 seconds per runner. Shawnee State (Ohio) captured the team title with 31 points while Cumberland (Tenn.) finished second with 44 points.

Dezare Jackson posted the top time for the Blue Raiders, finishing the 5,000-meter course in 20:42. Jackson finished 20th in the 68-woman field.

Three other Blue Raiders finished within the 22nd to 26th range -- all running in their first conference championship.

Elsa Diaz crossed the finish line in 22nd with a time of 20:48. Kayla Roeder and Meredith Johnson posted 25th and 26th place finishes with times of 21:04 and 21:09, respectively.

Kirsten Crepps and Abbie Chandler rounded out the Blue Raider squad. Crepps ended in 40th while Chandler finished 48th.

Shawnee State's Marissa Smith won the individual title and MSC Runner of the Year with a time of 19:01.

The Bears and the top four individuals not on the winning team earns a berth into the NAIA National Championships on Nov. 17 in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
