PORTSMOUTH, Ohio – The Lindsey Wilson men's golf team posted a 579 (289-290) team score to finish competition at the Mid-South Spring Invite at the Elks Country Club in second place.
With the second place finish the Blue Raiders wrapped up the MSC regular-season title after their combined finishes in the fall and spring tournaments. Lindsey Wilson finished in first during the fall tournament and second today to earn the most points across the two regular-season events.
The two rounds were originally scheduled to take place over Saturday and Sunday but projected inclement weather forced the schedule change.
Callum Blinkhorn set the pace at the tournament carding a 12-under par two-round score of 132 (66-66) to finish in first place at the tournament. The win marks the fifth time this season Blinkhorn has won a tournament.
Morgan Grace finished inside the top ten after posting a one-over par score for the tournament. He shot a 74 during round one and followed that up with a 1-under par 71 second round to finish the tournament in seventh place with a 145 total.
Cody Mingus shot a 150 (74-76) to finish in 15th as Etienne Rensburg captured 21st with a 152 (75-77). Callum Burns finished one stroke behind Rensburg after he shot a 153 (76-77).
Steven McGowan competed as an individual at the tournament as he carded a 156 (82-74).
Lindsey Wilson returns to action on April 29 – May 1 when they travel to Bowling Green, Kentucky to compete at the Mid-South Conference Tournament.
