OLD HICKORY, Tenn. – The Lindsey Wilson men's golf team rolled at the LTU Hermitage Invitational taking first place by 26 strokes on Wednesday. The Blue Raiders were the only team to finish the Invitational under par at 7-under across two rounds.
The event was held at Hermitage Golf Course General's Retreat, a par-72, 6,770-yard design.
Callum Blinkhorn ran away with the individual title, finishing at 8-under par to win by six strokes over Lindsey Wilson teammate Emil Gruhn who finished at 2-under par. The victory is Blinkhorns ninth of his career and the first this season.
Blinkhorn managed a 136 (69-67). Across his two rounds, the senior racked up 13 birdies with seven coming during the second round. He played his second round to a season-low five-under-par, playing the front nine to five under par.
Lindsey Wilson had five golfers competing in the invitational finish within the top-eight as all six competitors managed to turn in top-16 placements.
Grunn climbed two spots to a tie for second place during the final round, firing a three-under-par score. He started his afternoon three over through five holes before racking up six birdies across his final 13 holes. He finished with 11 birdies across his 36 holes.
Sebastian Sandin finished in a tie for fifth place with a 145 (71-74). He finished one-over-par at the event. Janik Hawlitzky finished just behind in eighth place with a 146 (74-72), two-over-par for the Invitational.
Callum Burns shot a 76 on both rounds to finish at 152 in a tie for 16th place.
Jeremiah Hayes competed as an individual where he turned in a tie for fifth place with a 74-71. He totaled 145 strokes.
Faulkner (Ala.) and Midway finished in a tie for second place with a 595 as the squads shot a (303-292) and a (308-287), respectively.
The Blue Raiders return to the course on April 12-13 for the MSC Spring Invite at Bear Trace Cumberland Mountian Golf Course in Crossville, Tennessee.
