CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa. – Meredith Johnson and Levi Owens were the lone Blue Raiders to compete at the NAIA Cross Country National Championship on Friday morning. The event was run at the Seminole Cross Country Course.
Johnson competed in the women's 5k where she turned in a 158th place finish in the field of 326 athletes. She crossed the finish line with a time of nineteen minutes and 40.41 seconds. She averaged just less than four minutes per kilometer at 3:56.1 for her race.
Owens took part in the men's 8k race where he was able to turn in an 81st place finish in the 317 person field. He raced his way to a time of 25:59.72. He averaged just over three minutes (3:15.00) per kilometer across the course of his race.
The event was the 41st annual NAIA Women's Cross Country and the 65th annual NAIA Men's Cross Country National Championships.
With the conclusion of the event, the Blue Raiders also close out the 2020-21 cross country season.
