CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. – On Saturday afternoon, the Lindsey Wilson men's basketball team fell just shy of the century mark, but nonetheless, dominated Virginia-Lynchburg, 97-80, at the Lou Cunningham Classic to improve to 4-4 overall heading into December.

The three-pointers were plentiful inside the Powell Athletic Center, as both sides combined to shoot 25-for-43 from behind the arch. The Blue Raiders connected on a season-high 13 of those buckets, with Jackson Harlan coming off the bench to knock down five, including four straight on as many attempts in the first half.

As a team, the locals hit 37 total field goals, which one-ups their previous season-high that was set just 24 hours earlier against Health Sciences and Pharmacy (Mo.). Elijah Jordan was the primary catalyst behind that number for the Blue Raiders. The fifth-year senior finished with 19 points on 8-of-16 shooting, moving him over 800 points for his Lindsey Wilson career.

It took some time for the gears to grind offensively. The Dragons did just enough to grab a 9-6 lead after five minutes of action, however, the Blue Raiders quickly turned things around with four consecutive three-pointers on as many possessions to race ahead, 18-13.

From there, Lindsey Wilson never surrendered their advantage, despite Virginia-Lynchburg remaining in contention as the first half dwindled down. That's when Jordan made his presence felt and erupted for 10 points of his own over the frame's final two minutes. The trigger from the Blue Raiders' leading scorer helped propel them to their highest-scoring half of the season and take a 52-38 cushion into the locker room.

In the second half, Payton Cundiff recorded all of his 11 points, including the team's first five as the two opponents shared early shots. Lindsey Wilson's defense did, eventually, lock down against the Dragons' persistent effort. Following a three-point bucket from Donnie Cook with 17:04 left in regulation, the Blue Raiders did not allow another Virginia-Lynchburg field goal for the next 7:25 and utilized that stretch to increase their lead to as many as 31 points, up 82-51.

Virginia-Lynchburg hit six three-pointers in the final eight minutes of the game but were ultimately doomed by five turnovers during that span, which bumped up their game total to 19 miscues. Off those faults, Lindsey Wilson scored 25 points.

Behind Jordan's offensive performance was Harlan with 15 points. Jamyus Jones and Connor Robinson also recorded in double-figures, contributing 14 and 12, respectively.

Elsewhere for the Blue Raiders, Veron Kalonji chipped in a team-high six rebounds while also adding seven points, and Rodney Lewis turned in an all-around effort with nine points, four assists, and three steals.

Lindsey Wilson is scheduled to resume its schedule on Thursday, December 1 when Bethel University (Tenn.) comes to Columbia for a conference clash.
