COLUMBIA, Ky. – On Monday evening, the Lindsey Wilson men's basketball team will take a brief step away from its Mid-South Conference schedule to travel to Clarksville, Tennessee for an exhibition showdown with Austin Peay State University.
This will be the Blue Raiders' second such contest of the 2022-23 season after previously visiting Murray State University back on November 12 and will be the first meeting between the locals and the Governors since February 15, 1937.
The ASUN Conference product has won 11 consecutive games against non-division opponents, including a 102-57 victory over Kentucky Christian University last week, which was just their first win in their last eight outings against teams from Kentucky.
Elijah Hutchins-Everett and Sean Durugordon pace Austin Peay on offense, averaging 13.5 and 11.2 points per game, respectively. The first of the two also leads the way for the Governors on the glass, corralling 6.7 total rebounds a night.
Entering Monday, Austin Peay has shot 0.500 or better from the floor in each of its last three games, but the Governors still rank 14th in overall field goal percentage and field goal percentage defense among ASUN Conference programs.
Lindsey Wilson, on the other hand, sits eighth in the Mid-South shooting 45.5 percent, including 35.5 percent from three-point territory, the third-best mark in the league.
Elijah Jordan and Payton Cundiff are both scoring 17-plus points a game over the Blue Raiders' last six games, while Cundiff and Veron Kalonji stand atop the roster with 4.5 rebounds per game in that same span.
Monday's action will be televised online on ESPN+, and live stats can be found at letsgopeay.com.
Tip-off from the Winfield Dunn Center is slated for 7 p.m. CST.
