COLUMBIA, Ky - The Lindsey Wilson men's basketball team suffer its second straight home loss against No. 9-ranked Georgetown College (Ky.) Thursday night, 77-66. The Blue Raiders were left on the short end of a few second half Tiger runs that led to the conference defeat.

Elijah Jordan led all scores for LWC with 15 and had a team-high of three steals on defense in the home loss. Payton Cundiff followed up with 12 points of his own with Johrdon Mumford and Rodney Lewis contributing nine points apiece.

The game started out pretty even in the first half with both sides finding their rhythm beyond the arc within the first few minutes. Georgetown jumped out to a quick 5-0 run halfway through the half, but Lindsey Wilson was able to respond and tied things at 22 with just eight minutes to go.

Georgetown out scored the LWC 14-9 to close the half with their busy activity on the glass to give themselves second chance opportunities. The Tigers finished with a 50-33 rebound advantage and scored eight more points off second chances than the Blue Raiders. The Tigers exceptional rebounding was the difference in this matchup as they went into halftime up five.

The second half became a more physical ball game inside the paint as both teams shot only 39% from the field in the first half and about 40% from three point range. Georgetown came out aggressive and capitalized on their trips at the line as they extended their halftime lead. The Tigers led by as much as 16 points in the second half as the Blue Raiders continued its struggles down the stretch.

Lindsey Wilson were able to claw back into this game with a few runs and cut the deficit back to five with about six minutes remaining. A few shots fell to fall and the whistle not blowing in favor of the Blue Raiders led to the 77-66 loss in a hard fought battle at home.

LWC hits the road to Williamsburg, Ky. on Saturday, Dec. 8 to take on (RV) Cumberlands (Ky.) for a conference matchup at 2 p.m. CT.
