MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. – The Lindsey Wilson men's golf team opened their 2022 spring schedule with competition at the Showdown at Legends event. The Blue Raiders scored a 908 (307-302-299) during the three rounds of play to finish in second place.

Sebastian Sandin finished alone in fifth place with a 224 (72-76-76) marking his second top-10 finish of the season and his first inside to top-5. He managed a 3.08 scoring average in the par-3's and a 4.23 mark on the par-fours with an even park mark on par-5's

Emil Gruhn finished one stroke off Sandin in a tie for sixth place. He posted a 225 (79-70-76). Callum Burns just missed out on the top-10 in a tie for 11th place. He scored a 228 (79-78-71) across his three rounds.

Janik Hawlitzky and Alfie Yearsley were the final individuals scoring team points for Blue Raiders in the competition. The pair finished tied for 17th and 30th, respectively. Hawlitzky totaled 233 (77-80-76) strokes while Yearsley finished at 239 (85-78-76).

AJ Shagool (42nd), Shane Henderson (44th), Evan Kidd (T46th), Jarrett Napier (51st) and Chase Carpenter (52nd) competed as individuals.

William Carey's (Miss.) Claes Borregaard win the individual title by one stroke with a 215 (72-72-71) as Coastal Georgia won the event with a 888 (300-299-289) finishing 20 strokes ahead of the Blue Raiders.

Lindsey Wilson returns to the course on March 7-8 when they compete at the Skyhawk Invitational at Callaway Gardens Golf Club in Pine Mountian, Georgia.
