Volleyball Sweeps UT Southern

PULASKI, Tenn. – At the Robert E. Curry Center, the Blue Raider volleyball team secured its first road victory of the 2022 season, improving to 1-1 in conference action with a three-set sweep over the Tennessee Southern.

The Blue Raiders won the match 3-0 (25-19, 25-23, 25-16) to close out their Tennessee road trip.

Lindsey Wilson saw a noticeable improvement in their hitting percentage from Thursday evening's contest in Lebanon, finishing with 43 kills behind a mark of just below 27 percent.

The visitors also put forth a solid effort distributing the wealth offensively, as five different attackers posted at least six successful strikes, led by junior Alix Stoermer who continued to close the gap on 500-career kills with a team-high eight on the night.

Camryn Rich was the facilitator finishing with 32 assists while adding six digs. Natalie Ackermann finished with a team-leading 16 digs.

Lindsey Wilson held the Firehawks to a .134 hitting percentage in the match and forced them into 24 errors. The Blue Raiders were effective offensively hitting just 11 errors across 120 total attacks.

The Blue Raiders are back on the court on Friday when they welcome Freed-Hardeman to Biggers Sports Center. First serve is slated for 6 p.m. CT.
