COLUMBIA Ky. - The Lindsey Wilson (1-4-2) men's soccer squad comes up short on the road against Tennessee Southern (6-1) on Wednesday night in a 1-0 loss.

After a strong showing of defensive plays to start the match by both squads, Carlos Galan finally put the Firehawks on the board first. The goal came in the 40th minute off an assist from forward Rodrigo Costa which ultimately became the only score in the game. Galan now has four goals on the season.

Coming into the second half, Lindsey Wilson continued its aggressive play on the offensive and defensive end attempting to erase the one point deficit. A fair share of shots by multiple Blue Raiders just outside the post and saves from UT Southern goalie Ajay Murray kept LWC out of reach.

Lindsey Wilson got one last chance at the goal in the 90th minute as Sadam Masereka's shot was just too high over the goal. Masereka finished with a game high of six shots.

LWC outshot the Firehawks 17-8 while also outshooting them on goal 4-3 despite not being able to strike one in.

The Blue Raiders men's soccer team will travel to Lebanon, Tennessee next to face off against Cumberland University (Tenn.) on Sept. 25 at 3 p.m. CT.
