Box Score LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. - The Lindsey Wilson men's soccer team (10-2-2, 3-0-1) emerged victorious after a battle against Georgia Gwinnett this afternoon.
After losing two men in the match to red cards in the 26th and 84th minutes, the Blue Raiders pressed on the offense to come out with a 2-0 win. The two goals of the match were scored by Michael Acquah in the 10th minute and Sebastian Tregarthen in the 87th minute. In goal, Pablo Costa saved all three of the shots that came his way, making this match his seventh shutout of the season.
The Blue Raiders outshout the Grizzlies 4-3 in shots on goal, with two of the shots finding the back of the net, one in each half. Acquah's goal came off a cross from Tregarthen followed by a drive into the box and a shot near the top of the 18 yard box. Tregarthen's goal in the second half was off a clear from Costa that was collected by Alvaro Verway and passed to Tragerthen for a shot once again at the top of the 18 yard box. Both teams collected two yellow cards apiece, with Lucas Migon and Alexis Santamaria being the receivers of the red cards.
The last home match of the regular season for the Blue Raiders is slated for Wednesday evening against Georgetown. The game is set to kickoff at 7 p.m. CST at Walter S. Reuling Stadium - Ray Wells Field. The game will be broadcasted live on the Lindsey Wilson Sports Network.
