RIO GRANDE, Ohio – The Lindsey Wilson men's basketball team opened up the Bevo Francis Classic hosted by Rio Grande with a 75-58 loss to IU Kokomo Friday.

Rodney Lewis led the way for the Blue Raiders (1-3) scoring a team-high 15 points on 6-of-13 shooting and had six assists. Barrett Burchyett was also in double figures with 14 points on 5-of-10 shooting while connecting of 4-of-7 shots from beyond the arc.

The Blue Raiders opened the game scoring five of the first seven points. Lindsey Wilson had an 8-5 lead before the Cougars scored the next five points to lead 10-8 with 13:19 to play in the first half. Lindsey Wilson then re-took the lead going on a quick 4-0 run. IU Kokomo responded by scoring the next nine points to lead 19-12 with just over nine minutes to play in the half. Lindsey Wilson tied the game at 19 with a 7-0 run. The Blue Raiders trailed 27-22 with under four minutes to play in the half before scoring the next five points. IU Kokomo closed out the first half on a 6-0 run to lead 33-27.

Lindsey Wilson trailed 41-34 before IU Kokomo went on a 6-1 run to lead 47-35 with 11:51 to play. Following a Connor Robinson three that trimmed the Blue Raider deficit to single digits, the Cougars went on an 11-2 run to increase their lead to 58-40 with under eight minutes remaining. IU Kokomo remained in control for the rest of the game as Lindsey Wilson fell 75-58.

The Blue Raiders close out the Bevo Francis Classic at 4 p.m. CT Saturday when they take on host Rio Grande.
