Men’s Basketball Closes Out Thomas More Classic With 77-62 Loss to Cincinnati-Clermont

CRESTVIEW HILLS, Ky.  – The Lindsey Wilson men's basketball team closed out the Thomas More Classic with a 77-62 loss to Cincinnati-Clermont Saturday at the Connor Convocation Center.

Kenyata Carbon led the Blue Raiders (3-5) with 21 points on 9-of-19 shooting while recording nine rebounds and four assists. Matt Khoury was also in double figures with 12 points on 4-of-8 shooting from beyond the arc. Lucas Ribiero grabbed a game-high 11 rebounds.

Lindsey Wilson shot just 42.6 percent from the field and only converted on 11 of its 23 attempts from the charity stripe.

The Cougars scored the first five points of the game. Lindsey Wilson responded going on a 15-1 run that lasted for over three minutes and was propelled by three Khoury threes. Cincinnati-Clermont scored the next five points to trim its deficit to 15-11 with 12:13 to play in the half. The Blue Raiders pushed their lead back to nine with a 7-2 run. The two teams exchanged points for the rest of the half as the Blue Raiders led 39-32 at halftime.

Cincinnati-Clermont opened the second half on a 6-3 run to make it 42-38 with 18:04 remaining. Following a Lindsey Wilson basket, the Cougars went on a 7-2 run to trim the Blue Raiders lead to 46-45 with 13 minutes to play. The Blue Raiders then scored five of the next seven points to lead 51-47.

Lindsey Wilson was leading 53-50 before Cincinnati-Clermont scored the next eight points to lead 58-53 with 6:57 to play. Rodney Lewis hit a pair of free throws to make it 66-62 with 4:16 to play. The Cougars ended the game scoring the final 11 points.

The Blue Raiders return to action at 7 p.m. CT on Tuesday when they welcome Toccoa Falls (Ga.) to Biggers Sports Center.
