COLUMBIA, Ky. – The Lindsey Wilson women's basketball team avenged an early-season loss to Alice Lloyd (Ky.) on Friday afternoon, pummeling the visiting Eagles 87-43 to remain perfect at Biggers Sports Center this season.

With 20 or more points scored in each quarter, the Blue Raiders left no doubt as they held their opponent to under 35 percent from the field for the second consecutive game and fourth time overall. Lindsey Wilson also held a significant edge on the glass – 48-30 – and outscored Alice Lloyd 46-26 in the paint.

Lucy Patterson finished 7-for-10 on the day and corralled seven rebounds en route to a game-high 17 points. Meanwhile, Natalie Gentry and Taylor Guess provided a huge boost off the bench with 12 and 11 points, respectively, plus a career-best six assists from the latter of the two.

The Eagles grabbed their largest lead of the game at the 6:33 mark of the first quarter to go ahead 6-4, but Lindsey Wilson swiftly turned the tide and went on a 19-8 run to close out the frame. A three-point basket by Claire Fleming ignited the rally, and seven points from Patterson only fanned the flames.

In the second quarter, a 10-0 stretch over a two-minute span by the home side created much needed separation, highlighted by six points a defensive rebound and a steal from Gentry. From there, a consistent defensive presence helped the Blue Raiders go into the locker room with a 44-23 advantage.

Lindsey Wilson ended up outshooting themselves 54.8 to 39.5 percent on field goals in the second half compared to the first, which was more than enough to put the Eagles away.

The win pushes the Blue Raiders to 7-0 at home this season, their best start at home since the 2017-18 campaign when they opened 11-0. It also gives head coach John B. Wethington his 691st career victory.

Lindsey Wilson returns to action in the new year on January 11 when Mid-South Conference play begins at Georgetown (Ky.).
