Box Score Columbia, Ky – The Lindsey Wilson men's basketball team was defeated 90-73 in its last regular season contest by No. 10 Georgetown College (Ky.) on Saturday. The Blue Raiders drop to 6-16 in conference play and now have a 10-17 overall record.
Lucas Ribeiro led the way in scoring for the Blue Raiders with 18 points on 9-10 shooting along with four rebounds and a block. Connor Robinson and Payton Cundiff were the only other Blue Raiders in double figures with 13 and 11 points, respectively.
Lindsey Wilson started the game off strong as they jumped out to an early 12-3 run in the first few minutes of play. The Tigers finally settled in on the defensive end and made some stops to knot the game at 19-19 with 9:31 remaining in the half. Both squads matched each other's intensity down the stretch as the lead was shared between the two on several occasions in the half.
Georgetown managed to get some stops and force Blue Raider turnovers that allowed them to overcome a five-point deficit at the 5:28 mark and outscore Lindsey Wilson 15-4 to close the half. In an evenly battled first half, the Tigers were able to gain the edge over the visitors to take a 40-34 lead into halftime.
Despite 10 second-half points from Ribeiro, in which he shot a flawless 5-for-5, the second half belonged to the Tigers as their leading scorers took over late. Jake Ohmer and Tae Dozier led Georgetown with 24 and 19 points, respectively on a combined 15-22 shooting from the floor. Dozier finished a double-double as Georgetown outlasted Lindsey Wilson 90-73.
The Blue Raiders finish the regular season with a 10-17 overall record and now await the Mid-South playoff bracket to be released later on Saturday night.
