Track and Field Dozen Named to Daktronics NAIA Scholar-Athlete List

COLUMBIA, Ky. – Twelve student-athlete members of the Lindsey Wilson men's and women's track and field teams earned Daktronics NAIA Scholar-Athlete status for the 2022-23 season on Wednesday afternoon.

In order to be nominated by an institution's head coach or sports information director, a student-athlete must maintain a minimum grade point average of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale, must appear on the eligibility certificate for the sport, and have attended one full year at said institution.

Representing the Blue Raiders were Jozlen Brisbon, Logan Bullock, Victor Clark, Nick Cummins, Nolan Foushee, Alina Hoberg, Emily Huber, Meredith Johnson, Olivia Rudder, Alyssa Sharp, Edwin Van Wyk, and Zoe Wilson.

Among the dozen locals selected for a scholar nod this season, five are returning honorees, including Johnson and Clark, who collected their fourth and third-career scholar accolades for track and field, respectively.

Meanwhile, Bullock, Hoberg, and Sharp each earned their second such honor, while Brisbon, Cummins, Foushee, Huber, Rudder, Van Wyk, and Wilson all receive the distinction for the first time.

Lindsey Wilson finished with the third-highest selection total in the Mid-South Conference, trailing Georgetown College with 18, and the University of the Cumberlands and Freed-Hardeman University with 16 apiece.
