WILLIAMSBURG, Ky. - The Lindsey Wilson volleyball team fell in their second conference matchup of the season 3-1 to Cumberlands (Ky.) on Friday after a hard fought four sets. 

The Blue Raiders (8-7, 1-1) dropped the first set 25-13, but bounced back with strong offensive efforts for the remaining sets, winning the second set 25-20, and falling in the remaining two sets 20-25. 

Elisa Burzio led the team in kills with 13, and two Blue Raiders reached double digits in assists. Luiza Goncalves recorded 16 assists while Monika Szwarc had 15. Defensively, Aleksandra Wyrzykowska led with 11 digs, followed closely by Wiktoria Stankiewicz with 10. 

The first set of the match got off to a rocky start for Lindsey Wilson, but during the second set, the Blue Raiders came back with offensive dominance, having a .225 hitting percentage over the Patriots' .098. Lindsey Wilson also had 13 kills, four blocks and two service aces to round out a win in the second set. 

Cumberlands took control in the remaining two sets, with the Blue Raiders falling by five points in each. Kara Gipson led the Patriots in kills with 18, Savanah Jolly led with 44 assists and Juliet Banks led in digs at 18. 

The Blue Raiders will be back in action on Tuesday at Biggers Sports Center to take on Campbellsville at 6 p.m. CST. The last time these teams met was on November 11, 2022, where the Blue Raiders fell to the Tigers.
