COLUMBIA, Ky. - The Lindsey Wilson volleyball team travels to Campbellsville for the second edition of the Battle of Highway 55 Thursday at Gosser Gymnasium beginning at 6 p.m. CT.
The Blue Raiders enter play 20-8 overall and are currently 7-0 in Mid-South Conference play. Lindsey Wilson went 2-2 at the Missouri Baptist Classic this past weekend in St. Louis, Missouri. The Blue Raiders opened the classic with a five-set loss to Missouri Baptist and defeated Saint Ambrose (Iowa). Lindsey Wilson lost to then-No. 24 McPherson (Kan.) 0-3 and wrapped up the classic with a 3-1 victory over Faulkner.
Reigning MSC Setter of the Week
Luiza Gonçalves ranks second in the MSC in assists (906) and assists per set with 9.34.
Savanah Pippin ranks third in the conference averaging 0.87 blocks per set and in total blocks with 72.
Ola Wyrzykowska's 283 kills rank fifth in the MSC while her 2.9 kills per set are sixth.
Campbellsville is 19-9 and have 6-2 record in MSC action. The Tigers have won eight of their last nine matches heading into Thursday. Campbellsville was last in action on Oct. 10 sweeping Georgetown (Ky.). Jana Krstic leads the MSC with 1,068 assists and in assists per set with 10.68 while Brooke Hager is second in the conference with 79 total blocks.
The two teams met back on Sept. 10 with the Blue Raiders coming away with a thrilling five-set victory. All-time, Lindsey Wilson holds a 35-29 edge in the series and are 13-12 in Campbellsville. Campbellsville has won the last three meetings in Gosser Gymnasium.
