COLUMBIA, Ky. - The Lindsey
Wilson football team closes out the 2024 regular season on Saturday as the Blue Raiders host No. 11 Georgetown (Ky.) on Senior Day at Parnell Family Stadium at 1 p.m. CT.
Twenty-five players and one student manager will be recognized during Senior Day festivities prior to Saturday's game. The recognition is scheduled to begin at 12:25 p.m. CT.
The Blue Raiders look to bounce back in the season finale after falling to Bethel (Tenn.) 33-31 in four overtimes last week. Lindsey Wilson (5-3, 3-2 Mid-South Conference) recorded 383 yards of offense in the game.
Pryor Lamb completed 19 of his 35 passes for 270 yards and three touchdowns.
Davontaye Saunders led the Blue Raiders catching two passes for 96 yards and two touchdowns. Defensively,
Lou Burchfield led the way with 15 tackles while
Cameron Rankins was also in double digits with 10
Lindsey Wilson enters play averaging 28.6 points per game and 322.8 yards per game. The Blue Raiders rank 29th in the NAIA averaging 176.4 rushing yards per game. On the defensive side of the ball, Lindsey Wilson allows 316.1 yards per game and 21.6 points a game. The Blue Raiders are only allowing an average of 75.3 rushing yards per game which ranks fourth in the NAIA.
Georgetown comes into Saturday's matchup with a 7-2 record overall and a 5-0 mark in the MSC. The Tigers clinched the conference championship last week with a 24-17 overtime victory over Campbellsville (Ky.). Gehrig Slunaker scored on Georgetown's first possession of overtime. Georgetown clinched the win forcing a Campbellsville fumble on its first play. The Tigers are averaging 24.6 points per game and average 344.1 yards per game. Defensively, Georgetown ranks 18th allowing 18.1 points a game and allow 333.3 yards per game.
Saturday's game marks the 15th all-time meeting between the two programs. Lindsey Wilson owns a 9-5 record against the Tigers, including a 6-2 mark in Columbia. Georgetown won last season's matchup 10-0 in Georgetown.
