A subsequent service error and a combo block by Burzio and Pippin bookended a 5-0 Blue Raider run that provided some separation. Two additional five-point swings later in the set only added to Lindsey Wilson's advantage. A kill from Burzio clinched a 2-0 lead in the match and ended a 7-1 Blue Raider run to give them a 25-13 set win.
In the third, Lindsey Wilson got out in front, 5-4, and a kill by Pippin sparked a 4-0 rally to grow the lead. The Lions did not shy away, however, and even snuck ahead 17-16. Following a series of back-and-forth action, the score became settled at 21-21. Another Lions service errors sent the Blue Raiders off on a match-sealing 4-0 run, punctuated by a duo block by Burzio and Pippin.
