COLUMBIA, Ky. — Lindsey Wilson men's soccer opens their 2024 NAIA National Tournament campaign with a second-round clash against Xavier University (La.) at 1 p.m. CT on Saturday, Nov. 23. Due to field conditions, the game has been moved to Parnell Family Stadium.

The winner of this match will advance to the final site of the national tournament in Wichita, Kansas, continuing their pursuit of the coveted NAIA title.

The Blue Raiders (9-5-3) earned their spot in the tournament after a runner-up finish in the Mid-South Conference tournament, where they fell to No. 10 Cumberlands (Ky.) in a dramatic final decided by penalty kicks. Lindsey Wilson looks to bounce back and capitalize on the home-field advantage, having posted a 2-0-1 record at Parnell Family Stadium. The Blue Raiders last game on this turf field was a 4-1 win against John Brown (Ark.) during the 2019 NAIA Men's Soccer National Championship Opening Round. 

Xavier (14-4-1) had a runner-up finish in the Red River Athletic Conference tournament, where they lost 2-0 to Louisiana Christian. This marks the first-ever meeting between the Blue Raiders and the Gold Rush, adding an element of intrigue to this pivotal matchup.

The Blue Raiders will look to key players like Dominic Ayella, Sebastian Tregarthen, and team captain Michael Rempel; they have delivered consistently strong performances throughout the season. Lindsey Wilson's defense, led by goalkeeper Francois Djiba, will need to remain resolute against Xavier's potent attack, which has propelled them to 14 wins this season.
