McKENZIE, Tenn.– The Lindsey Wilson women's soccer team wrapped up its season with a 2-1 loss to Bethel (Tenn.) in the first round of the Mid-South Conference Tournament Friday.

The match saw early dominance from Bethel, with the first goal coming in the 25th minute. Briley Ross found the back of the net for Bethel, scoring with an assist from Ainhoa Chirivella. Just 12 minutes later, Chirivella would get on the scoresheet, doubling the lead with an assist from Addison Schumacher in the 37th minute, leaving Bethel with a 2-0 advantage at the break.

Lindsey Wilson, facing elimination, pushed forward in the second half, and their efforts paid off in the 72nd minute. Lara Rocha scored for the Blue Raiders, bringing the game to 2-1. However, despite creating several opportunities, Lindsey Wilson was unable to find the equalizer.

Lindsey Wilson managed three shots on goal throughout the match, but Bethel's defense, along with the strong goalkeeping performance of Bethel's keeper, stood firm. On the other hand, Bethel registered a dominant 10 shots on goal, with Alida Leles of Lindsey Wilson making seven saves in a valiant effort to keep her team in the game.

Lindsey Wilson concluded their 2024 season with a 3-7-4 overall record and a 2-3-1 mark in conference play. The Blue Raiders will now look ahead to the off-season, reflecting on how to improve for the years to come.
